The Punjab Police( Punjabi, Urdu پنجاب پولیس) is a law- enforcement agency in the  fiefdom of Punjab, Pakistan. Under the command of its Inspector General( IG), it administers all felonious cases under the Police Acts of 1861 and 2002. The force was introduced in its  ultramodern form under British rule, and a  social influence continues. It's seen by some as an intimidating, rather than a friendly, association.( 3) On 22 December 2022, Muhammad Aamir Zulfiqar Khan was appointed Inspector General of theforce.The  ultramodern system of policing was introduced during British rule. The British administration relieved the zamindars of responsibility for police service, and introduced adjudicators with daroghas and other inferior officers. The Punjab Police was organized in two branches the Military preventative Police and the Civil operative Police. This arrangement proved  wrong,  still, and the government of British India  prompted the government of Punjab to  probe the  fiefdom's system of policing in 1860. Due to the  significance of the issue, the central government appointed a commission to  probe policing in British India. The Calcutta Police Commission of 1860 recommended  invalidation of the police's military arm, the appointment of an Inspector General of Police in the  fiefdom and the supervision of police in a  quarter by a District supervisor. The commission recommended that only the  quarter  justice should conduct law- enforcement functions. Grounded on the commission's recommendations, the government of India submitted a bill which was  legislated as Act V of 1861; the Police Act of 1861 was  espoused. The organizational structure of the act still survives.   The Punjab Police Rules of 1933  proved the police practices of the time, and introduced measures for  perfecting administration and  functional effectiveness. The rules indicate that the Punjab Police was a professional police association by 1934, had considerable knowledge of the  fiefdom's crime and  culprits, and developed effective procedures and practices for dealing with  colorful kinds of felonious  exertion. The force's  executive and  correctional functions were also described. They've been the model for  analogous rules in other  businesses of Pakistan, and are still in force.
